Nigeria’s Super Eagles have arrived in Fes, Morocco, as preparations intensify ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Head coach Éric Chelle and his squad touched down in the Moroccan city on Thursday night, marking the next phase of their build-up to the continental showpiece. The team had earlier spent five days in Cairo, Egypt, where they held a closed training camp to fine-tune tactics and fitness.
During their stay in Cairo, the three-time African champions tested their readiness in a pre-AFCON friendly against the Pharaohs of Egypt. The encounter, played at the Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday, ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Super Eagles but provided valuable insights for the coaching crew.
With their base now set in Fes, the Super Eagles are expected to step up preparations from Friday as focus shifts fully to competitive action.
Nigeria will begin their AFCON 2025 campaign next Tuesday with an opening group match against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania, as they target a strong start in their quest for continental glory.
