Akure North Football Council Outlines Development Plan For 2026, To Present Budget Wednesday

The Akure North Football Council has announced its intentions to present its 2026 football budget of activities on Wednesday at the Akure North Local Government Hall, Iju-Itaogbolu.
The Chairman of Akure North Local Football Council,Banjo Adepoju, described the event as first of its kind in Ondo State.
Adepoju said the event will unveil the Council’s comprehensive football development and engagement programmes for the 2026 calendar year.
According to him, the Chairman of Ondo State Football Association and member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Board, Otunba Dele Ajayi, will serve as the Father of the Day, while the Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Johnson Ogunbolude, will grace the occasion as the Special Guest.
Highlighting its 2026 football calendar, the Council outlined a series of developmental and competitive activities to run throughout the year. The lineup includes:
Hon. Johnson Ogunbolude Unity Cup (January – March)
Coaches Football Clinic and Referee Seminar (January and September)
Akure North Football League (April – June)
Akure North Street Soccer (June – August)
Otunba Dele Ajayi U-13 & U-15 FA Chairman’s Cup (August – September)
Akure North Community Shield (August – October)
Football Fans Tournament (November)
Female Youth Cup (November)
Football Festival (December)
The Akure North Football Council described the budget presentation as a step towards transparency, accountability, and strategic planning in grassroots football administration within the local government area.
