‎Kano Pillars General Manager, Ahmed Musa, has issued a heartfelt apology following the disturbing incident that marred his club’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Sunday evening.

‎In a strongly worded statement, the former Super Eagles captain described the events as “heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable,” stressing that they do not reflect the proud values and heritage of Kano Pillars Football Club.

‎ “What transpired against Shooting Stars is heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable. It does not represent the true values, identity, or proud history of Kano Pillars,” Musa said.

‎“This club has always stood for community, passion, and respect — values that must never be overshadowed by violence or indiscipline.”

‎Musa extended his unreserved apology to the players, coaches, and supporters of Shooting Stars, as well as to the referees, league officials, NPFL board, GTI partners, and football fans across Nigeria and beyond who witnessed the unfortunate scenes.

‎ “I know how painful it must have been to witness something so damaging to our game, and I am deeply, deeply sorry,” he added.

‎Emphasising that violence has no place in football, the Pillars GM vowed that the club would work closely with the relevant authorities to identify and sanction those responsible for the disgraceful act.

‎ “Football is meant to unite, to inspire, and to bring joy. When it turns into scenes of chaos and harm, we must not pretend it away — we must confront it head-on,” Musa stated.

‎He further assured that concrete steps will be taken within the club to prevent such incidents from happening again, noting that “apologies alone are not enough; words must be followed by action.”

‎Musa also addressed Kano Pillars’ passionate fan base, urging them to channel their love and energy positively.

‎ “To our loyal fans, true support is not shown through violence but through respect, passion, and discipline,” he said.

‎“This must be a turning point for us. We must remind the world that our love for this club can be powerful without being destructive.”

‎Concluding his statement, Musa reiterated his personal remorse and the club’s commitment to restoring trust, respect, and the integrity of Nigerian football.

‎ “On behalf of Kano Pillars Football Club, I offer my most heartfelt and unreserved apology to everyone affected — to the NPFL, Shooting Stars, referees, and all football lovers.

‎”We take full responsibility and will do everything necessary to restore the true spirit of the game in Kano and across Nigeria.”
