‎The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed that Morocco will host the African playoffs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

‎The mini-tournament will decide which African nation secures a spot in the intercontinental play-offs, where they will compete for one of the remaining places at the global showpiece.

‎According to CAF, the playoff semi-finals will take place on November 13, 2025, with the final scheduled for November 16, 2025.

‎The competition will feature the four best second-placed teams from the nine qualifying groups. CAF also announced that the October 2025 FIFA World Rankings will be used to determine the seeding for the draw.

‎Based on the seeding, the top-ranked team will face the fourth-ranked, while the second-ranked side will take on the third-ranked in the semi-finals.

‎The eventual winner of the mini-tournament will advance to the intercontinental play-offs in March 2026, where they will meet teams from Asia, South America, Oceania, or CONCACAF to fight for a coveted spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
