The Yeyeluwa of Edeland, Mrs. Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, has thrown her full weight behind the 2025 edition of the Osun Military Paramilitary Games, further solidifying her reputation as one of the foremost champions of sports and community development in Osun State.
Mrs. Adeleke-Sanni, a distinguished member of the Governing Council of Adeleke University and sister to the Executive Governor of Osun State, expressed her strong support when the Main Organizing Committee of the Games paid her a courtesy visit ahead of the highly anticipated sporting festival.
The competition, which will run from October 15th to 29th, 2025, is set to bring together military and paramilitary personnel from across Osun State in a showcase of discipline, camaraderie, and athletic excellence.
Twelve sporting disciplines will be contested during the Games, including football, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, tug of war, and several others. According to the organizers, the goal of the competition is not only to provide a platform for military and paramilitary personnel to express themselves through sports but also to promote their physical and mental well-being, as well as strengthen bonds across the services.
In her remarks, Mrs. Adeleke-Sanni hailed the vision behind the Games, describing it as “a noble initiative that blends the values of service, fitness, and unity.” She further encouraged all military and paramilitary personnel in the state to seize the opportunity to embrace sports, both as a way to improve their health and as a unifying force that transcends service lines.
“Sports have always been a powerful tool for promoting peace, teamwork, and healthy living. I commend the organizers for creating this platform, and I urge our gallant men and women in uniform to participate actively, not just for the competition, but for the friendships and mutual respect it will foster,” she stated.
A passionate sports enthusiast herself, Mrs. Adeleke-Sanni has consistently supported initiatives that promote youth development, health, and community cohesion through sports.
Her involvement has been described as a major boost for the credibility and success of the Osun Military Paramilitary Games.
In what promises to be a major highlight of the competition, the semifinal and final matches of the football event will be staged at the newly built Aderemi Sanni Stadium within Adeleke University, Ede, a world-class facility named in honor of her late husband.
The stadium is expected to draw large crowds of sports lovers from within and outside Osun State, adding a unique glamour to the closing stages of the Games.
The Organizing Committee, representing Ace Sports and the Osun Sports Officers Association, expressed profound gratitude to the Yeyeluwa of Edeland for her encouragement and endorsement, describing her support as a motivating factor for both athletes and administrators
As the countdown to October 15th begins, the Osun Military Paramilitary Games 2025 is already shaping up to be one of the most impactful and unifying sporting events in the state this year, an event that will not only celebrate physical excellence but also the enduring spirit of service, unity, and resilience among Osun’s uniformed men and women.
