Spanish club Sevilla has extended congratulations to striker Jerome Akor Adams following his maiden invitation to the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.

The 24-year-old forward was included in Nigeria’s 23-man squad announced on Friday for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Benin Republic.

Akor, who currently plies his trade with Sevilla, is the only fresh face in the squad released by head coach Eric Chelle.

The La Liga side celebrated the call-up on their official X handle, posting:

“Congrats to Akor Adams who has been called up by Nigeria for the first time!”

Akor previously represented Nigeria at the U-20 level, and this senior team call-up marks a major milestone in his career.
