‎Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, have advanced to the final round of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after dismantling Rwanda 4-0 in the second leg of their second-round clash.

‎The match, played at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Saturday, September 27, saw the Falconets complete a 5-0 aggregate triumph, having won the first leg away from home.

‎Precious, Fatimah, Janet, and Afolabi were all on target for Nigeria, each finding the back of the net in a commanding display that highlighted the team’s superiority. From the first whistle, the Falconets controlled possession, dictated the tempo, and punished Rwanda with clinical finishing.

‎With this emphatic victory, Nigeria set up a final-round clash against either Senegal or Algeria. The Senegalese hold a 2-0 advantage from the first leg of their tie, with the second leg scheduled for later today.

‎The decisive final qualifying round is billed for February 2026, where four African teams will ultimately secure tickets to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

‎For Nigeria, a perennial powerhouse at youth level, qualification would extend their rich history of consistent appearances on the global stage.
