‎Crystal Palace ended Liverpool’s flawless start to the Premier League season with a dramatic 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park, thanks to Eddie Nketiah’s last-gasp strike.

‎Ismaïla Sarr opened the scoring in the ninth minute, capitalising on sloppy Liverpool play, before Federico Chiesa equalised late in the second half. Just when it seemed Liverpool would escape with a point, substitute Nketiah volleyed home Marc Guéhi’s cross in the seventh minute of stoppage time, sparking wild celebrations among the home fans.

‎The result extends Palace’s unbeaten league run to a club-record 18 games and cements their reputation as one of the season’s surprise contenders. Manager Oliver Glasner’s system, built on defensive solidity and quick counter-attacks, again proved decisive, while Dean Henderson and Guéhi produced outstanding performances.

‎For Arne Slot’s Liverpool, the defeat exposed defensive lapses and lack of cohesion despite a £250m summer recruitment drive. Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak struggled to make an impact, and only Alisson’s heroics prevented Palace from running away with the game.

‎The loss is Liverpool’s first at Selhurst Park since 2014 and a reminder that their title defence will be fiercely contested. Palace, meanwhile, march on with growing confidence as they prepare for European action.
