Super Falcons’ shot-stopper and Brighton’s number one, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has once again etched her name among the world’s finest goalkeepers after being ranked 4th best women’s goalkeeper at the prestigious Yachine Trophy during the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris, France.
The Nigerian international, who continues to fly the country’s flag high on the global stage, was shortlisted among the final five nominees for the award.
🏆 Final Ranking (Women’s Goalkeeper – Yachine Trophy 2025):
1️⃣ Hannah Hampton (England & Chelsea – Winner)
2️⃣ Ann-Katrin Berger (Germany & Gotham FC)
3️⃣ Cata Coll (Spain & Barcelona)
4️⃣ Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria & Brighton, formerly Paris FC)
5️⃣ Daphne van Domselaar (Netherlands & Aston Villa)
Nnadozie’s recognition comes on the back of an outstanding year for both club and country.
At her former club Paris FC, she played a pivotal role in their French Women’s Cup triumph, keeping crucial clean sheets throughout the campaign before sealing a summer move to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League.
On the international stage, she was a wall of steel for the Super Falcons of Nigeria, leading them to a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco.
Her brilliance between the sticks saw her named Goalkeeper of the Tournament at WAFCON, further cementing her reputation as Africa’s best.
Despite narrowly missing out on a podium finish, the 24-year-old’s meteoric rise continues to inspire a new generation of African footballers. With her move to the English WSL, expectations are high that she will continue to grow and perhaps climb higher in the global rankings in the coming years.
