‎Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has undergone a successful surgery to repair a hamstring injury sustained while on international duty with Nigeria.

‎The 28-year-old full-back picked up the injury during the Super Eagles’ recent fixture and was forced to withdraw from action. Following medical assessments, he went under the knife on Tuesday to address the setback.

‎Aina, who previously played for Chelsea, is now expected to spend around three months on the sidelines. His recovery timeline means he faces a race against time to regain full fitness ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

‎Before the injury, Aina had featured three times for Nottingham Forest in the current Premier League season, playing an important role in the team’s defensive setup. His absence will be a blow to both Forest and Nigeria as they prepare for crucial fixtures in the coming months.
