‎Austrian Bundesliga outfit Wolfsberger AC have completed the signing of promising Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Michael, strengthening their squad ahead of the new season.

‎The 21-year-old joins the Lavanttal-based club from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars, where he played a pivotal role in their title-winning campaign. Michael has signed a three-year deal with head coach Dietmar Kühbauer’s side, underlining the club’s faith in his potential.

‎Known for his composure, ball-winning ability, and distribution, the defensive midfielder made 34 appearances for Remo Stars last season, contributing two goals and four assists. His performances earned him a call-up to the home-based Super Eagles squad for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

‎Michael’s move also means he will reunite with fellow Nigerian Chibuike Nwaiwu, who is already on the books of Wolfsberger AC. The signing is seen as a boost to the club’s midfield depth as they look to compete strongly in the Austrian topflight.

‎For Michael, the transfer marks a significant step in his career, providing him the opportunity to test himself in European football and continue his development on a bigger stage.
