Prosperity Girls Rally To Defeat USFA, Set Up Final Showdown With Asec Mimosas

Bayelsa Queens FC, also known as the Prosperity Girls, staged a remarkable comeback to defeat USFA of Burkina Faso 2-1 in the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.
The match, played at the Stade Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, saw Bayelsa Queens fight back from a goal down to snatch the victory.
USFA struck in the 2nd minute through Comfort Yeboah, who rifled home after a defensive mix-up left her to score.
Thirteen minutes later, Emem Essien equalized for Bayelsa Queens with a precise finish with a header into the bottom corner to end the first half 1-1.
Janet Akekoromowei, who was also named player of the match, gave the Prosperity Girls the much-needed goal in the 62nd minute with a well-taken shot that beat the goalkeeper of USFA.
Bayelsa Queens Coach, Hakeem Busari, expressed satisfaction with his team’s 2-1 win over USFA. Busari praised his team’s performance, saying they deserved the win, highlighting their strong start in the first half where they created numerous scoring opportunities.
The result secured Bayelsa Queens a final ticket against the host Asec Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire on Friday.
The two teams are currently staying in the same hotel, setting the stage for a thrilling final showdown.
