‎Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has completed a loan transfer to Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen for the 2025/26 season.

‎The 24-year-old forward will play a crucial role in Bremen’s attack, with the club covering part of his salary as part of the agreement.

‎”I want to contribute with my performances to helping us achieve our common goals this season,” Boniface said. “I’m looking forward to my new team and my time at Werder Bremen.” He expressed his excitement after completing the move, citing discussions with the club’s management as a key factor in his decision.

‎Werder Bremen’s head coach, Horst Steffen, believes Boniface will be a key player for the team. “Victor is physically incredibly strong, has a very good finish, and good pace,” Steffen said. “He shone as a goalscorer and assist provider in Bayer Leverkusen’s championship-winning season. I’m sure he can become a key player in our group this season.”

‎Werder Bremen’s head of professional football, Peter Niemeyer, also praised Boniface’s abilities. “We are pleased that we were able to complete the loan and secure Victor’s services,” Niemeyer said. “He has shown outstanding performances in the Bundesliga and proven his qualities. We are convinced that he can continue that with us.”

‎Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2023 and played a key role in their Bundesliga-winning campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing nine assists in 23 league games.

‎He has also been capped 13 times by Nigeria and has impressive stats from his time at Union Saint-Gilloise and Bodø Glimt.
