‎Sevilla has confirmed the mutual termination of Kelechi Iheanacho’s contract, allowing the Nigerian striker to join another club.

‎ The 28-year-old forward had fallen down the pecking order under head coach Matías Almeyda and had been linked with a move to Scottish champions Celtic.

‎ Iheanacho joined Sevilla in 2024 but struggled to find consistent playing time, making 11 appearances and scoring three goals.

‎ He was loaned to Championship side Middlesbrough in January, where he featured in 15 matches, scoring once and providing two assists.

‎Sevilla and Iheanacho have mutually agreed to terminate his contract, which was set to expire in June 2026.

‎ With his contract now terminated, Iheanacho is free to join another club without any transfer fees.

‎ Celtic had been strongly linked with Iheanacho, and the termination of his contract allows them to finalize the deal at their own pace.

‎ Celtic are looking to strengthen their attack after a solid start to the season but a disappointing exit from the Champions League.
