Nasarawa United coach Mangut Mbwas expressed his delight after his team’s 1-0 win over Abia Warriors, which marked their first victory of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign.
Ugochukwu Leonard’s stunning goal in the 10th minute proved to be the difference-maker.
”I am so happy with the three points,” Mbwas said. “My players came out smoking from the first half, creating a lot of opportunities, even though our opponents also had their playing time, but I think we deserved the maximum points.”
Mbwas praised his players for their impressive performance, particularly in the first half.
The coach gave credit to Abia Warriors for their compact play, acknowledging that they were a tough opponent.
Mbwas mentioned that he is still new to the club and is working on building the team, expressing confidence that they will improve with time.
Nasarawa United will face Enyimba FC on September 7, 2025, in their next match.
