Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey were in action for Fulham in their 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
Goals from Joao Pedro and captain Enzo Fernandez secured Chelsea’s first win in the league this season.
The match saw controversy when Fulham’s Joshua King had a goal disallowed by VAR in the 21st minute.
The decision was made due to Rodrigo Muniz’s perceived foul on Trevoh Chalobah, although many argued it was a harsh call.
Pedro headed home Fernandez’s corner kick in the 9th minute of added time in the first half, giving Chelsea the lead.
Fernandez then scored from the penalty spot in the 56th minute after Ryan Sessegnon was penalized for handball.
Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey Played the full 90 minutes for Fulham while his compatriot Alex Iwobi Played 84 minutes before being substituted off.
The win puts Chelsea temporarily at the top of the Premier League table with seven points, while Fulham drops to 14th with two points.
