‎Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is facing uncertainty over his participation in Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa due to an injury.

‎Nwabali was stretchered off in the 35th minute of Chippa United’s match against Richards Bay on Tuesday night, raising concerns about his fitness for the crucial qualifiers.

‎The 29-year-old goalkeeper’s injury has put his availability for the World Cup qualifiers in doubt.

‎Nwabali faces a tight schedule to recover in time for the matches against Rwanda and South Africa, scheduled for September 6 and 10, respectively.

‎Nwabali was included in Nigeria’s 31-man provisional squad for the World Cup qualifiers last week.

‎ The squad features other goalkeepers, including Adebayo Adeleye, Amas Obasogie, and Ebenezer Harcourt. The Super Eagles’ coaching staff will need to assess Nwabali’s fitness and make a decision on his inclusion in the final squad.

‎The World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa are crucial for Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

‎The Super Eagles will need to field their best team, and Nwabali’s absence would be a significant blow to the team’s goalkeeping options.

‎The outcome of Nwabali’s injury assessment will determine his availability for the World Cup qualifiers. If he is unable to recover in time, the Super Eagles’ coaching staff will need to consider alternative goalkeeping options.
