Athletics Federation of Nigeria Announces World Athletics Championships Trials

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has fixed August 1 to 3 for the national trials ahead of the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
The trials will take place at the Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) in Lagos.
Competition Details
- Date: August 1-3, 2025
- Venue: Yabatech Sports Complex, Lagos
- Athlete Arrival: July 31, 2025
- Departure: August 4, 2025
Some of the top athletes expected to participate in the trials include :
- Tobi Amusan: World-record holder and 2022 world champion in the women’s 100m hurdles, aiming to reclaim her title
- Ese Brume: Long jumper and Olympic medalist
- Tima Godbless: Rising sprint sensation
- Chukwuebuka Enekwechi: Shot putter
- Nathaniel Ezekiel: 400m hurdler
- Udodi Onwuzurike: Sprinter
