‎The President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN), Hon. Silas Agara, has been elected as the 4th Vice President of the African Karate Federation (UFAK).

‎This significant achievement marks a boost for Nigeria’s presence in continental sports administration.

‎Agara clinched the position at the UFAK General Assembly held in Abuja, defeating his Congolese rival, Mr. Freddy Kombo, with a decisive 20-11 vote margin in a highly competitive contest.

‎ The event was attended by karate delegates from across Africa, including the President of the World Karate Federation (WKF), Antonio Espinós.

‎Reacting to his victory, Agara dedicated the achievement to Nigeria and the West African region, emphasizing his commitment to advancing karate development across the continent.

‎He pledged to work closely with the Nigeria Sports Commission and other stakeholders to strengthen grassroots karate programs and align them with broader national development goals.

‎Agara’s victory is a testament to his hard work and dedication to karate development in Nigeria. “One’s record should speak for itself. What you have accomplished should be your ticket to office. I simply presented what we’ve achieved in Nigeria and allowed the delegates to decide based on that,” he said.
