‎Nigeria’s Prestina Oluchi has won another gold medal in the U20 women long jump category through her stellar performance in day five of the Third African championships in Abeokuta.

‎ Prestina Oluchi thrilled the jubilant  Nigerian spectators who applauded her feat with a standing ovation.

‎Her victory speaks volume of the Nigeria’s strength, doggedness and grit in determination to always win at any athletic competition whether at the local or international levels.

‎For the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon.Bukola Olopade viewed this as not a mere feat.

‎”What we are witnessing here at this African Championships so far, the dynamic display of our young athletes clearly  represent Nigeria’s winning spirit  and what the National Sports  Commission stands for.

‎”Our emphasis on grassrootsports development which aims at catching them young is crystalizing here and equally beginning to bear fruit”, he said.

‎While congratulating Team Nigeria, Olopade assured that the leadership of the commission will continue to focus on the development of young talents – our future hope, is capable of bringing them to stardom, and  also  represent Nigeria at any international championships excellently well.

‎As Nigerians continue to make waves in the other segments of the competition, the final outcome of the Championship which  closes tomorrow, the expectation is: how many medals will the home athletes bring to the table?
