Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has returned to full training at Nottingham Forest after recovering from a serious abdominal injury.
Awoniyi sustained the injury in May while playing for the club and underwent a two-stage surgical procedure.
The 27-year-old striker attended Nottingham Forest’s last league game of the season against Chelsea at the City Ground after leaving the hospital.
Awoniyi has now rejoined his teammates in training, marking a significant step towards his return to action.
Awoniyi is expected to ease back into action gradually after attaining full fitness. His return will be a boost to Nottingham Forest’s squad as they prepare for the new season.
Nottingham Forest were held to a 0-0 draw by Chesterfield in their first pre-season game last weekend. With Awoniyi’s return, the team will look to build on their pre-season preparations and make a strong start to the new campaign.
