‎Arsenal is on the verge of completing the high-profile signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, with the Swedish international set to undergo a medical on Friday to finalize the move.

‎The deal, worth €63.5 million upfront plus €10 million in achievable bonuses, has been months in the making.

‎After tense negotiations, both clubs have reached a breakthrough, with Arsenal agreeing to pay the agreed fee.

‎The deal had looked uncertain, with Sporting president Frederico Varandas initially valuing Gyokeres at €100 million. However, the striker’s representatives stepped in to ease discussions, and a mutually agreeable structure was eventually reached.

‎Gyokeres has made it clear that he wants to join Arsenal, where he will push for major honors. He has agreed to a five-year contract, earning around €8 million per season after tax. The 26-year-old’s arrival marks a significant step in Arsenal’s bid to strengthen their forward line.

‎Mikel Arteta has been instrumental in driving the pursuit of Gyokeres. If the paperwork and medical are completed in time, Gyokeres could feature in Arsenal’s upcoming pre-season fixtures.

‎The Gunners have strengthened across multiple departments this summer, bringing in Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard. Moves for Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera are also nearing completion, with the club’s sporting director Andrea Berta overseeing a busy but efficient window.
