Italian Femminile outfit AS Roma has announced the signing of Super Falcons forward Omorinsola Babajide on a two-year contract.
Babajide joined the Galliorosi on a free transfer after her contract with Spanish Liga F outfit UD Tenerife expired in May.
The 27-year-old versatile striker had a remarkable final season at Tenerife, registering 10 goals and five assists in 26 league appearances.
Her impressive performance earned her a spot at AS Roma, where she will wear jersey number 30.
Babajide’s arrival increases the number of Nigerians at AS Roma to two, joining defender Shukurat Oladipo, who is already a key part of the team.
Babajide’s extensive experience playing in England for clubs like Crystal Palace, Millwall Lionesses, Watford, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion will undoubtedly benefit her new team.
Interestingly, Babajide represented England at the youth level before switching her international allegiance to Nigeria, where she now proudly plays for the Super Falcons.
