‎Warri Wolves were crowned champions of the 2024/25 Nigeria National League (NNL) season after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Wikki Tourists in the final of the Super 8 playoffs at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Saturday.

‎The Seasiders dominated the opening exchanges, scoring three goals in the first 25 minutes.

‎Yusuf Abdullateef opened the scoring for Warri Wolves in the 7th minute, followed by Igbunu Evwierhurhoma’s second goal nine minutes later, set up by Abdullateef.

‎Joshua Shemaye scored the third goal five minutes before the half-hour mark, giving Warri Wolves a comfortable lead.

‎Wikki Tourists mounted a spirited fightback, with Mamuda Aliyu reducing the deficit in the 35th minute.

‎Wonderson Yakubu netted the Bauchi Elephants’ second goal in the 59th minute, but Warri Wolves held on to claim the title.

‎Warri Wolves’ victory marks a significant achievement for the team, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in the NNL.

‎The team’s dominant display and ability to hold off Wikki Tourists’ fightback demonstrate their strength and determination.
