Zambian giants Zesco United have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Chijioke Alaekwe on a two-year contract.
The 27-year-old forward joins the club on a free transfer after impressing with Akwa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season.
Alaekwe registered five goals in 21 appearances for Akwa United, who unfortunately failed to maintain their top-flight status and were relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The striker has also played for several other NPFL clubs, including Kano Pillars, Gombe United, Ifeanyi Ubah, and Nasarawa United.
Alaekwe is not the only new signing for Zesco United, as the club has also recruited Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, Kabaso Chongo, and Ifoni Pepo.
The club finished in second position in the Zambian Super League last season and is looking to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.
