Warri Wolves and Kun Khalifat have confirmed their places in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the next season.
The two clubs emerged victorious in their final group games in the Nigeria National League (NNL) promotion playoffs.
Warri Wolves defeated Crown FC 2-1 to secure the top spot in Conference B. Abdulateef Yusuf gave the Seasiders the lead nine minutes before the break, scoring in the 36th minute.
Crown FC equalized in the 38th minute, but Shemaye Amatesiro’s goal in the 68th minute sealed the win for Wolves.
Kun Khalifat earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over Osun United, securing their first-ever promotion to the NPFL. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the club, and they will make their NPFL debut next season.
Earlier in the day, Wikki Tourists and Barau FC secured promotion from Conference A, joining Warri Wolves and Kun Khalifat in the NPFL next season.
The four teams will compete in the top-flight league, showcasing their skills and talents against the best teams in Nigeria.
