The defending champions, England, have bounced back from their opening defeat to France with a thrilling 4-0 win over the Netherlands in their Euro 2025 Group D match.
Chelsea forward Lauren James scored twice, while Georgia Stanway and Ella Toone also got on the scoresheet as the Lionesses dominated the match.
Lauren James opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a stunning strike from the edge of the box, courtesy of a long-range pass from goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.
Georgia Stanway doubled the lead in first-half added time with a powerful strike, celebrating with her arms outstretched.
James scored her second goal on the hour mark, pouncing on the rebound from Ella Toone’s saved effort. Toone herself got on the scoresheet in the 67th minute, sealing a convincing win for England.
The Lionesses were under pressure to win after falling behind in Group D, but they dominated the match, defending well and winning the ball in midfield.
The Netherlands barely threatened and will have work to do to qualify when they face group leaders France in their final game on Sunday.
England will face Wales, the lowest-ranked nation in the group, in their final match. With this win, the Lionesses have revived their hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
