Enekwechi Throws African Record, Finishes Third At Eugene Diamond League

Nigerian shot putter Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has made history by becoming the first man from Africa to throw over 22m in the men’s Shot Put.

 

Enekwechi achieved this feat at the Eugene Diamond League, throwing an African Record (AR) of 22.10m to finish third in the event.

 

 

 

Enekwechi’s throw was impressive, but he narrowly missed out on second place to Roger Steen, who threw a personal best of 22.11m in his fifth attempt.

 

Enekwechi ended the competition with a mark of 21.68m in his final attempt.

 

 

Enekwechi has been consistent in his performances since 2017, steadily making Nigeria proud on the global shot put stage. His achievement is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport.

– 1st Place: Joe Kovacs (USA) – 22.48m (World Leading mark)

– 2nd Place:Roger Steen – U.S. athlete Joe Kovacs won the event with a world-leading mark of 22.48m.

– 3rd Place:Chukwuebuka Enekwechi (Nigeria) – 22.10m (AR)
