Kwara United and Abakaliki FC are set to face off in the 2025 President Federation Cup final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

Both teams are chasing their first-ever title in the competition.

Road to the Final

Kwara United had a remarkable run, defeating Cynosure FC, Solution FC, and Gombe United, before edging Akwa United and Rangers International FC.

Abakaliki FC, on the other hand, overcame Yobe Desert Stars, Enyimba, Nasarawa United, and Ikorodu City FC, with penalty shootouts deciding their fate in each match.

A win for Kwara United would end the state’s 49-year wait for a title, while Abakaliki FC’s victory would mark a historic moment for Ebonyi State, which has never had a team reach this stage of the competition.

Tunde Sanni (Kwara United): “We’re on a mission to end our 49-year wait for a title.”

Ifeanyi Onyedika (Abakaliki FC) “We’ve prepared hard to win this competition for Ebonyi people.”

The men’s final will be preceded by the women’s final between Rivers Angels and Nasarawa Amazons, scheduled to kick off at 1 pm.
