Akwa Ibom Sports Commissioner Dissolves Management Teams Of State Football Clubs

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, has announced the immediate dissolution of the management teams of the state’s four football clubs: Akwa United Football Club, Dakkada Football Club, Ibom Angels Football Club, and Ibom Youth Football Club.
The decision comes after the conclusion of the 2024/25 Nigeria Football League season.
A new management team will be constituted soon to prepare the clubs for the upcoming football season.
The dissolution is part of efforts to reposition sports in the state for greater success, in line with Governor Umo Eno’s Arise Agenda.
The Sports Commissioner expressed gratitude to the outgoing officials for their contributions and wished them well in their future endeavors.
Akwa Ibom State Football Association chairman, Mr. Samuel Umoh, thanked the Commissioner for taking steps to reposition the teams for better performances.
The officials commended the Commissioner for the opportunity to serve and promised continued support and commitment to football development in the state.
