Club Brugge has appointed Joseph Akpala as its new Player Development Coach.
The former Super Eagles forward will work closely with the club’s first-team players to enhance their individual skills. Akpala’s appointment comes after his stint as assistant coach and interim head coach at KV Kortrijk.
A familiar face at Club Brugge, Akpala played for the Belgian Pro League side from 2008 to 2012, scoring 56 goals and providing 19 assists in 168 appearances.
His experience as a player and coach will be invaluable in his new role.
With Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika currently part of Club Brugge’s squad, Akpala’s expertise is expected to benefit the team.
