Bayelsa Queens on Monday depart Yenagoa through the Port Harcourt International Airport for Adamawa State, ahead of matchday 12 tie in the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL.
The “Prosperity Girls” will take on Adamawa Queens in the matchday 12 fixture having defeated Benue Queens 2-0 in their last game at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
Bayelsa Queens jetted out to Yola through the Port Harcourt Airport, courtesy of the Bayelsa State government to ease the stress of traveling long distance on their players in order to execute matches just as the men (Bayelsa United).
Reacting to the development, Chairman of the club, Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, appreciated the Governor, Senator Douye Diri and his deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for prioritizing the welfare and comfort of players in the state, stating that the gesture is a testament of the prosperity administration’s commitment to sports development.
He equally lauded the commissioner for Sports Development, Dr Daniel Igali for his direct supervision to ensure that the teams compete favourably with their peers in the league, assuring Bayelsans of the trophy at the end of the season.
Pastor Apreala urged the players of Bayelsa Queens not to see their current position on the league as success till the aims of the season for the club is achieved.
The “Prosperity Girls” are currently sitting first in Group B of the league with 29 points, three points above perennial rivals Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt and have qualified for the Super Six aiming to consolidate on their unbeaten run this season with a win.
