U-17 Women Qualifier: Yemisi Leads Mfom, Beauty, Funmi To Zambia

As at that the of this report, Nigeria Whistlers can authoritatively reveal that four Nigeria’s international referees have settled down in Zambia for the qualifying match involving the junior female teams of Zambia and Tanzania.

 

As part of the Fifa U-17 Women qualifying matches for Africa, Nigeria’s versatile whistle woman, Yemisi Akintoye of the Lagos State Council will be at the centre supported on the lines by Akwa Ibom’s Mfom Friday Akpan and Beauty Kabenda of the FCT council.

 

The fourth official is Ogun State’s Fumilayo Alaba. The four women referees are Fifa badged who have been in the continental scene and getting FIFA and CAF attention for international matches.

 

Nigeria Whistlers notes that the women referees who also officiate in the domestic NPFL were on duties at various centres last weekend as dress rehearsal for the task ahead, before jetting to Ngola, Zambia for the match.

 

The appointment from CAF which is an excellent combination any day, indicates that the quartet shall no doubt be good ambassadors of the Nigeria and will continue to make the country proud.
