NWFL:Delta Queens Pip Ibom Angels To Move To Third On The Log

Delta Queens FC secured a crucial victory over Ibom Angels FC, claiming a 1-0 win thanks to a lone goal from Princess Adams.

 

Princess Adams who emerged as the hero, scored the winning goal in the 51st minutes of the second half, while the MORE Queens held their defense firm until the final whistle, and secure the all important 3 points for the NWFL Premiership Match Day 7

 

Delta Queens FC has now extended their winning streak to three matches, which has ones again shown their strength and determination in the NWFL Premiership, defeating FC Robo Queens 4-1, Delta Babes 2-0 in the DFA Cup Finals, and now Ibom Angels FC 1-0.

 

The consistent winning form is a clear indication that the MORE Queens are growing stronger with each game. The win has taken the team to 3rd position in the group B table with 10 points , 7 points away from the joint group B leaders, Bayelsa Queens Fc and Rivers Angels Fc, closely following Delta Queens Fc is Naija Rates FC who are also on 10 points , same with Fc Robo Queens with 10 points, but with 2 goals deficit.

 

Reacting to newsmen, shortly after the match was the Head Coach of Delta Queens Fc, Coach Peter Dedevbo, who said although he is happy his team won, but he still fill the MORE Queens did not impressed him as he has expected them to. He emphasized that the team lost a lot of scoring chances, especially in the first half, and also in the second half, and that they the coaching crew will go back to continue their work on the team before the match at Akwa Ibom, that is coming up immediately after the NWFL break on the 19th of March, 2025.

 

The veteran coach Peter enjoy the Delta Queens Fc fans to continue to drum their support for the team, while assuring the fans that the days of losing matches are over.

 

Also speaking was the general manager of the Delta Queens Fc, chief Awhana Alakis Mercy, who said she was happy for the success recorded so far for the team, especially winning this all important match against the dogged Ibom Angels Fc, and that she is proud of the team.

 

She re-assured the fans that they should expect MORE from the girls, just as the State Governor, His Excellency Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori is ready to give MORE to the MORE Queens. She thank the sports Commission Chairman, Hon Onoriode Oborevwori and the sports Commission Director General, Mr. Festus Ohwojero for their support and commitment to the success of the Delta Queens Fc.
