Remo Stars Ladies head coach Wemimo Mathew expressed his delight after his team secured a 2-0 victory over Dannaz Ladies in the NWFL on Wednesday. Wemimo hailed his players’ performance, noting their steady improvement but emphasized that there is still work to be done.
“I’m very impressed with the girls’ performance today because there has been a lot of improvement,” he said. “We have to appreciate them, but we are not there yet. We will keep working hard to make our fans proud.”
The coach also reserved special praise for Bolaji Olamide, who has been a key player for the team. “She has been my player since the academy, and I know how to use her. She keeps improving, providing assists and goals. Though she can be a bit lazy, she is pushing herself, and I really appreciate that. She will score more goals.”
Speaking about their ambitions for the Super 6 and CAF Women’s Champions League, Wemimo remained focused. “We are still in the league, and our target is to qualify for the Super 6. Once we achieve that, we will plan ahead and aim to win the league.”
