Heartland Queens’ left full back, Chisom Henry has assured that her side will not come back home empty-handed from the topflight battle at former champions, Nasarawa Amazons.
The Owerri landladies are guests of the 2024 Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT) champions in Wednesday’s NWFL Premiership matchday 6 crunch clash at the Lafia City Stadium, Lafia, Nasarawa state.
Henry, who acknowledged how difficult all the participating teams have become in the ongoing season, insisted that her side’s journey to the Solid Minerals state will end in huge praises for the visitors.
“Everyone one should expect victory in the crunch game against Nasarawa Amazons.
“Nobody should expect a walkover on either side, it will be tough no two ways about it but we are resolved to come out of the encounter singing praises.
“Confidence in the entire players is quite high, the morale is all time very high and the watch word on everyone lips is victory.
“We are damn ready and prepared for the battle, we have been toughened emotionally, mentally and physically for the all-important-game,” said the hard-as-nail defender.
The heavily built strong woman said her side are not yet complete outsiders for the season’s prime prize – Super Six ticket.
“I believe we can still make it to the Super Six, that’s my sincerest prayers and wishes despite our placement on the log at the moment,” she enthused.
An inspiring good result in Wednesday’s matchup against Nasarawa Amazons will be a huge boost for the Owerri side going forward in other matches on the calendar.
