The UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final draw has thrown up a blockbuster all-English tie between Chelsea and Manchester City, while holders Barcelona will face Wolfsburg in a rematch of the 2023 final.
Chelsea and City Prepare for a High Stakes English Duel
Chelsea, who currently lead the WSL, beat City to their fifth successive domestic title last season by virtue of goal difference. Now the two English giants will face off on the European stage again in the quest to earn a ticket to the semifinals.
Having taken maximum points in the group stage, Chelsea, under Emma Hayes, will want to finally conquer Europe where near misses have been their lot for a few years now. On the other hand, Gareth Taylor’s Manchester City will be eager to return to the later rounds of the competition, upset their domestic rivals and stake their claim for their first ever European trophy.
Barcelona Target Fourth Trophy in Five Years
Defending champions Barcelona will renew their rivalry with Wolfsburg in a repeat of the 2023 final when the Spanish giants made a remarkable comeback from two goals down to claim victory. Barcelona, dominant in European soccer these last few years, are chasing their fourth Champions League title in five seasons.
Two-time victors Wolfsburg will be eager to exact vengeance and put a halt to Barcelona’s run of dominance.

A record eight-time winner, Lyon will face Bayern Munich. Lyon are another of the strongest sides in the competition as they seek to regain the title they last claimed in 2022 and they also won all of their group stage matches.
