Asante Kotoko’s quest to consolidate their points atop the Ghana Premier League table ran into a wall when they lost 1-0 in Week 19 at Nsoatreman on Sunday .

The game, marked by a massive scuffle among players of both clubs and fans disruption, saw the Porcupine Warriors receive three red cards before the game ended at the Nana Konamansah Park.

Goalkeeper Mohammed Camara and midfielder Justice Blay were sent off after the chaotic incident on 52nd minute before Michael Kyei Dwamena received his marching off orders. Afterwards it was confirmed that an Asante Kotoko supporter passed away after being attacked and stabbed to death in a fight between supporters outside the stadium.

Substitute Gabriel Bonnah’s 81st minute goal provided some form of relief to Nsoatreman who have struggled to claw three points in their last seven matches.

Notwithstanding the slim loss, Asante Kotoko still remain at the top with 34 points, same as Gold Stars after Week 19. Nsoatreman on the other hand inched steps away from relegation and seated 13th with 21 points.
