In a thrilling encounter on match day 3, Adamawa Queens FC, the Northeastern land ladies, secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Delta Queens FC of Asaba, marking their first comfortable win of the season and keeping their hopes alive in the league.
The match took a decisive turn just before halftime when Adamawa was awarded a free kick in the 45+2 minute. Asemsimi Omon stepped up to take the kick, expertly finding the back of the net to give her team a crucial lead.
Omon continued to shine in the second half, scoring her second goal in the 60th minute, further cementing Adamawa’s dominance on the pitch. She capped off her remarkable performance with a third goal in the 75th minute, sealing the victory and earning herself the Player of the Match accolade.
Despite the hard-fighting efforts from the Asaba babes, who put in a commendable performance, they were unable to breach the solid defense of Adamawa Queens.
Defenders Saka, Aka’ajime, Oluasesan, and Terfa were exceptional, effectively neutralizing any threats posed by the opposition. It was indeed a clash of queens, but Adamawa Queens FC showed no mercy, delivering an impressive display for their fans and keeping the game play alive as they look forward to their next challenges.
Looking ahead, Adamawa Queens FC are set to travel to Samson Siasia Stadium to face Bayelsa Queens on Match Day 4, scheduled for February 5, 2025.
This upcoming match promises to be a tough challenge, as Bayelsa Queens are known to be a formidable opponent and not a walkover team said coach Dadeino Heman.
