Real Madrid will look to continue topping the La Liga chart when they take on last-placed Real Valladolid today.
The Los Blancos have been in blistering form as they have indeed won seven out of their last nine league matches, scoring as many as 14 goals in their last three games.
However, Carlo Ancelotti’s men will definitely miss some key players in this match, including Vinícius Júnior.
Squad Update and Injury Woes
That leaves out Vinícius Júnior as well, because the upcoming game is his final match for his two-game suspension. The only injury casualties are Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Carvajal, and Éder Militão. Positive news for Madrid sees the return of David Alaba, in his third outing after a long-term ACL injury.
Tactical Setup and Predicted Lineup
Ancelotti will most likely use the 4-2-3-1 setup, with Thibaut Courtois manning the posts.
The suspension has been served, so there will be Lucas Vázquez at right-back, partnered by Antonio Rüdiger and Raúl Asencio in the center. At left-back should be Fran García.
In the midfield area, Fede Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni might well feature; Jude Bellingham drives creative affairs from here. On the wings will be Brahim Díaz and Rodrygo. The attacking lead shall be provided by Kylian Mbappé.
Looking Ahead
Before their big Champions League test against Brest, Real Madrid have business to attend to as they face a struggling Valladolid team they beat convincingly in August. A win today would keep Madrid’s title ambitions on course.
