The 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, Premiership continued its blistering start with mouth-watering Matchday Two fixtures on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Defending champions Edo Queens piped Heartland Queens 2-1 in Owerri. Goodness Osigwe emerged as the heroine of the match, scoring twice in the 40th and 70th minutes. Monica Mathew’s 48th-minute goal provided a lifeline for Heartland Queens, but it was a little too short to prevent the triumph of Edo Queens.

Diamantenna Ladies celebrated their first NWFL win as they eased to a 2-0 victory over Confluence Queens in Lagos. Zainab Raji and Omotoke Ogunfuwa scored early in the first half to seal all three points for the newcomers.

In Umuahia, Abia Angels came into full force with a commanding 3-0 victory against Nasarawa Amazons. Merit Offor, Dorothy Eshiet, and Chiamaka Ojilafor took advantage of general errors of oversight in the back.

Naija Ratels and Rivers Angels played out an exciting 1-1 draw as Chisom Nwachukwu scored for Rivers Angels before Oladeji Oluwabunmi equalized shortly after the break.

FC Robo Queens defeated Adamawa Queens 2-1 in Lagos. Second-half strikes from Favour Nkwocha and Opeyemi Ajakaye overturned Tarfa Anastasia’s opener for Adamawa.

Delta Queens continued their title charge with a 2-0 win over Benue Queens in Asaba, with a first-half brace from Princess Adam.

Remo Stars Ladies edged Ekiti Queens 1-0 in Ikenne, courtesy of the solitary goal from Olamide Bolaji in the beamed encounter.

In Uyo, Ibom Angels and Bayelsa Queens shared the spoils in an entertaining goalless draw despite valiant efforts by both sides.
