Victor Osimhen found the net for Galatasaray in their dramatic 3-3 draw against Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Europa League, but the Turkish side squandered a two-goal advantage late in the game.
It was a walkthrough for Galatasaray until it obtained a 3-1 lead: first-half goals from Davinson Sanchez and Abdulkerim Bardakci were complemented with a 53rd-minute penalty by Osimhen.
However, Dynamo Kyiv managed to fight its way back into this match as Andriy Yarmolenko scored twice in the latter stages of the match to seal a precious point for his Ukrainian outfit.
Galatasaray had started the match brightly through goals by Sanchez and Bardakci to give the visitors a 2-0 lead, but Dynamo Kyiv responded just before halftime through Vladyslav Vanat, setting up a tight second half.
Osimhen’s penalty seemed to seal the win for Galatasaray, but defensive lapses allowed Yarmolenko to score twice in quick succession, denying the Turkish side all three points.
Yet, Galatasaray are still in the running to reach the knockout stages.
The Turkish giants are fifth in their group with 13 points from seven games and have a strong chance of progressing.
The result showed the firepower they possess in attack and the defensive frailties they need to sort out for the future.
