Jay Jay’ Okocha: I failed Woefully As Delta FA Chairman

Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha has openly acknowledged his shortcomings during his time as the chairman of the Delta Football Association (FA).
In a recent interview with Lagos Talks FM, he expressed, “I failed woefully,” admitting that he did not complete his tenure and ultimately walked away from the position.
Okocha took full responsibility for his lack of accomplishments, stating, “I raise my hand I didn’t achieve anything as Delta FA chairman.”
He pointed out that the challenges he faced were largely due to corruption and systemic issues within the Nigerian football framework.
Okocha emphasized, “The structure will not allow people like us to succeed,” highlighting the pervasive level of corruption across various sectors in Nigeria.
He noted that many individuals with personal interests hinder progress, making it difficult for those genuinely invested in improving the sport to make a meaningful impact.
