Enyimba FC have been eliminated from this year CAF Confederation cup
Enyimba suffered 3-1 defeat to Egyptian Zamalek
The hosts took the lead in the 28th minute with a composed finish from Mostafa Shalaby. Zamalek’s dominance was further illustrated when Saif Al-Jaziri added a second in the 48th minute, just after the re-start.
Enyimba struck back in the 57th minute when Ifeanyi Ehemkwell scored to bring them within one goal and momentarily lift their hopes. Zamalek were sure of the victory after Al-Jaziri found the back of the net again in the 88th minute to complete his brace and dispose of any chance of a comeback.
The result kept Zamalek at the top of their group, while Enyimba were stuck on 5 points in third place and out of the running for the next round.
