Ola Aina Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest full-back Ola Aina has described how he introduces Nigerian culture to his teammates with music.

The 28-year-old has been a mainstay for Forest this campaign, starting every Premier League match. His performances have been a key part of the club’s strong campaign under Nuno Espírito Santo, with Forest currently in second place in the league, six points behind leaders Liverpool.

Aina was a significant contributor to Forest’s recent 1-1 draw with Liverpool, clearing a goal off the line to deny the Reds. He explained the team’s strong performances this season speaking to NBC Sports.

“We have fun! We’re a very energetic group. We are serious on things that matter, but at the end of the day, we enjoy every moment,” Aina said.

When asked how, in turn, he shares his Nigerian heritage, Aina pointed to music. “Afrobeats is the easiest way to bring the culture across, and the boys love it,” he said. It is also praise from his team-mate Anthony Elanga over his music taste in the dressing-room.

Forest do have 12 league wins this season, just two fewer than Liverpool, in their pursuit of a historic finish.
