Forner Rivers United Midfielder Backs CHAN Eagles For Glory

As the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) approaches, former Rivers United midfielder, Augustine Okejepha has expressed confidence in the ability of the home-based Super Eagles to make Nigeria proud at the championship.

The Simba SC midfielder believes that the team has what it takes to excel in the tournament. “I have been following the team’s preparations through the qualifyinying round to this stage and I must say that I am impressed with the quality of players and the coaching crew,” he said.

“The CHAN Eagles have a good mix of experience and youth, and I believe that they will give a good account of themselves at the Championship. They have been working hard, and their dedication and commitment to the cause are evident.

“When you have players Iike Adamu Abubakar,b Sodiq Ismail, Rabiu Ali (Pele), Badmus Nurudeen and other quality players in the mix, then you know the Eagles has a better chance to excel in the championship,” Okejepha stated.

The former midfielder, who had a successful stint with Rivers United, also praised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their efforts in preparing the team for the tournament. “The NFF has been doing a great job in supporting the team, and I believe that their efforts will pay off.” he said.

As the CHAN Eagles prepare to face their opponents, the former midfielder has a message for the team. “I want to urge the players to believe in themselves and their abilities. They have the talent, the skill, and the determination to succeed. They should go out there and give their best, and I am confident that they will make Nigeria proud.”

The 2024 African Nations Championship is scheduled to take place in Kenyq, Tanzania and Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya from February 8 to February 1, 2025 and the final will take place on Friday 28 February 2025.
