All Sports Supporters Club Congratulates Gusau On Election As WAFU First Vice-President

All Sports Supporters Club has congratulated President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, on his election as the 1st Vice President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) B Zone.

 

The election took place in Niamey, Niger Republic during the CAF African Schools Football Championship (WAFU B qualifying tournament) held in the country.

 

Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, was elected as President of the WAFU B Zone, while Oumarou Sawadogo, President of the Burkinabe Football Federation, emerged as the 2nd Vice President.

 

The president of All Sports Supporters Club Barrister Johnson Dagama believes Gusau will bring his wealth of experience to football growth in the sub-region.

 

“The emergence of Ibrahim Gusau is a round peg in a round hole”.

 

“We have no doubt that Gusau will further contribute immensely to football growth in West Africa sub-region.

 

The WAFU B Zone comprises seven countries: Nigeria, Togo, Benin Republic, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic, and Côte d’Ivoire.

 

Gusau, who assumed the presidency of the NFF in September 2022, has held several key roles in African football. These include serving on the Organizing Committee of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and acting as a top Security Officer for both FIFA and CAF.
