The highly anticipated 2024 edition of the Ekiti Governor’s Cup has reached the thrilling Round of 16 stage, with eight captivating fixtures lined up to take place across various centers in the state on Thursday. The action kicks off with Community Grammar School, Kota, going head-to-head against Ijammodu Comprehensive High School in what promises to be a tightly contested encounter. Meanwhile, St. Augustine Comprehensive High School will face Saliu Adeoti Memorial High School at Ogangamodu Grammar School, with both teams eyeing a spot in the quarterfinals.

 

In Ikole, Egbeoba High School will clash with Iludun Community High School, Ilejemeje, while Christ School, Ado-Ekiti, will take on Eporo High School at Eleyo High School, Ikere Ekiti, in a match many are calling the tie of the round.

 

The fifth encounter will see Government College, Ikere, square off against United Comprehensive High School, in a battle of evenly matched teams. Efon High School is set to lock horns with Eso One Secondary School, while Ekiti Baptist High School, Eso Obe Secondary School, are expected to deliver a thrilling contest.

 

The final Round of 16 game pits Ekiti Baptist High School, Igede, against Aramoko, promising to end the day with an exciting finish.

 

The Governor’s Cup has grown in stature over the years, fostering healthy competition among secondary schools and unearthing raw football talent in Ekiti State.
