Agbeyewa Soccer Championship Finalists Emerge, Grand Finale Gets Tuesday Date As Gov’t College Battle Omuo-Ore High School For #1 Million Champions’ Prize Money

All roads lead to the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 when the four teams that made it to the semi finals of the prestigious Agbeyewa Secondary Schools Football Championship in Ekiti State lace the soccer boots against one another again.
The Tuesday outing shall be the peak of the tournament which began about three weeks ago with 160 schools participating.
Following the outcomes of the semi finals matches, the two teams that will be playing the third place match on Tuesday are Iludun Community High School from Ilejemeje Local Government and Ifaki Grammar School from Ido Osi Local Government starting from 11am.
The finale match pairs Government College from Ado Ekiti with Omuo-Ore Comprehensive High School from Ekiti East Local Government against each other at about 3pm same day, same venue.
While the winners of the Agbeyewa Secondary Schools Football Championship 2024 being the second edition will be going home with a giant trophy and a sum of One Million Naira cash prize, the runners up will smile home with half a million Naira and the second runners up will get #250 thousand Naira.
Medals and other souvenirs and gifts also await the outstanding teams and individual players at the end of the tournament sponsored by Agbeyewa Foundation.
The sponsors whose passion are majorly in agriculture, education, Sports and lots more began the Agbeyewa Secondary Schools Football Championship in 2023 as a replica of the defunct Principals Cup in Ekiti State with the intention to discover, nurture and expose hidden budding talents from the nooks and crannies of the State.
The Director of Communications of Agbeyewa Foundation, Alhaji Dauda Lawal says while giving out handsome cash rewards to outstanding teams and players Agbeyewa Foundation also pays attention to the growth of football at the various schools that win the cash prizes as academic combined with Sports developmental programs are keenly monitored and encouraged after the tournament with the hope of harvesting future international stars that will not only feed their immediate families but will also bring pride , honour, fame and wealth to Ekiti State through their potentials.
The final of year 2024 edition scheduled for Tuesday which promises to be colorful and glamorous will attract many Sports and Education stakeholders in government and private investors from within and outside the country.
