2025 N-Youth League: Sunshine Stars Whitewash Austenplus

It was jamboree of goals for Sunshine Stars U-19 team as they demolished Austenplus Football Club 7-0 in match day four of the Southern Conference tie of N-Youth League at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
Ibrahim Gbogboade opened scoring in the early minutes of the game through an assist from Favour Ayobamidele in an impressive run of play to put the team ahead.
Ibrahim Gbogboade later doubled the scoreline in the 35th minute leveraging on the defensive error committed by Austenplus’ defender.
Sunshine Stars Youth Team had more possession to increase the tally as Favour Ayobamidele scored a screamer leaving their opponents to wonder as the first half ended 3-0.
On resumption of the second half, Sunshine Stars wasted no time as Ibrahim Gbogboade set up Khalil Nurudeen to score a double.
Matthew Samuel capped it all with a brace giving Sunshine Stars maximum three points away in Ikenne.

“I am quite happy with the performance of the boys today. I was not expecting the goals to be this many in an away game but with this result, it shows the boys are prepared to clinch the trophy.
“I want to thank chairman of ODSFA, Bamidele Ologunloluwa and other board members for their support to discover and nurture talents from the youth team”.
Next for Sunshine Stars U-19 team is a home match against Bayelsa United.
